Upgrade

I finally upgraded wordpress this morning to the newest version. The sad thing is that I waited so long that there will probably be an upgrade available in a few days and I’ll have to do it again. I was smart enough to not replace the smilies this time when I did the upgrade though, and all I have to do is edit the new functions.php file and then I’m all set. I just haven’t gotten around to doing that just yet. Maybe later. I really do like the newest version of wordpress, though. It’s completely different from the last one, and I love the navigability of it. It took a little getting used to, though. A whole 5 minutes.

I’m still looking for a plugin that will allow me to set certain currents. If I can’t find one, then maybe I’ll attempt to make one myself. I am surprised though, that with all the plugins available for wordpress nowadays it’s not easier to find a “currents” plugin. I’ve found a couple that put a “currently..” in the sidebar with what you’re eating, wearing, drinking, listening to, yada yada yada but that’s not what I want. I want one like Livejournal’s “Current Mood:” “Listening To:”, that type of stuff. So yeah, again if anyone knows where I can find one, email me or comment here and let me know. Thanks a ton.

On another note, I haven’t had much time to read my new books lately and it’s kind of annoying. But sometimes life gets in the way of doing stuff you actually enjoy. Yes, I’m a geek, and proud, even though I haven’t been expressing my geekiness as much as I usually get to, I’ve been too busy, almost too busy to “internet” as much as I would like. Whatever. Off to do the damn laundry and cook dinner. Yay.

Ahh, the one mistake I always make when upgrading my wordpress: overwriting my smilies. And just when I thought I avoided that last time, I overwrote my function file instead. :/

As for the “current” feature, I think you can do it without a plugin by adding an custom field in your posts. More info at: http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Custom_Fields

Hope this helps!

I hope you find that plugin you’re looking for. Wow you’re really good at keeping up with WP updates. I’m so behind.
