There Is Still Hope

I recently wrote about some really ugly drug addicted prostitutes that were arrested in Tennessee and said to be a group of the ugliest prostitutes ever. I don’t know about ever, but they were pretty ugly. That’s not what this post is about though, it’s about what got them to the point that they decided to start prostituting themselves. Most of the time, it’s an addiction that leads to prostitution. Addicts will do anything to get their next fix. It’s a really sad thing to see, too. If you’ve ever known anyone who was addicted to drugs or alcohol, watching them go through that downward spiral is a really painful thing to see. Someone who was once very close to me killed them self a couple of years ago, and I attribute his suicide to the fact that he suffered from a really bad meth addiction. The person I used to know no longer existed in him because of the meth. He had been released from a mental institution just prior to committing suicide. I don’t think he needed a mental institution, though. I sometimes wonder if he were put into a place like Promises Treatment Center, or one of various other rehab facilities instead of a place for crazy people would he still be with us today? If you know someone who suffers from an addiction, I advise that you try to get them some help. Whether the addiction is to alcohol, cocain, heroin, meth, or whatever, be aware that their addiction is a disease and they need help in fighting it. They more than likely can’t do it alone. That’s why a place like Promises would be a good place to start getting their lives back on track. Then maybe they won’t end up like my ex boyfriend.
