Website Stuffs

I got sick of seeing the little notice telling me that a new version of wordpress was available, so I finally broke down and upgraded. Again. Now, I realize that wordpress gets upgraded to fix errors and security flaws and all that, but it seems like there’s a new version every other week. I can’t complain, I still prefer wordpress out of all of the other CMS and blog tools I’ve used thus far. Luckily, I remembered the smilies this time. Albeit at the last minute and had to cancel the upgrade midway through to grab my old smilies and the functions.php file so I didn’t have to go in there and manually rewrite it again, that gets so tedious. Usually I forget about the smilies and have to rename and reupload them and then I have to go in and redo the functions.php to suit my smilies.
Anyway, all my plugins seem to work still. Usually when I upgrade I have a problem with at least a couple of them. But this time I was smart and upgraded all of my plugins before I did the wordpress upgrade. Woo.
Also if you haven’t noticed, I did finally add the hire me badge back to my sidebar. Screw Google and their taking away my page rank and never giving it back asses. I get the traffic, that hasn’t changed. The page rank is just a cosmetic “stamp” and really has no bearing on anything at all. If it did, their updates would make more sense. I’ve seen pages that do nothing but sponsored posts and a big fat hire me badge with a page rank of 4 or higher, and I’ve seen sites with a decent page rank get spanked when they didn’t even do sponsored posts or mention them. As a matter of fact, that happened to one of my other blogs this weekend. It was a pr 3, and I’ve never done anything sponsored or sold a link whatsoever and now the pr is a big fat zero. So whatever.

You’re right about WP coming out with new versions like every day. I haven’t upgraded in a while though, I just can’t keep up with it all. Glad you’re taking good care of your site though.
It’s more OCD than anything else.
