Hotel Life

I want to apologize to everyone who left comments and visited my site for not returning your comments yet. I usually am very good about returning comments and doing my entrecard drops but my family and I had to leave our homes because of stupid hurricane Ike, and I have not had a lot of time to do the commenting and stuff. I do have internet at the hotel I’m staying at, but I guess everyone’s using it because it’s uber slow and sometimes takes days to load any page. It’s actually slower than dial up if you can believe that.

The hotel is really cute, but it’s small as hell and I’m sharing this little tiny room with my son who at this moment has terrible gas. It sounds funny, but honestly it’s not. He’s stinking me out. :omg: Anyway, it’s not a bad little room, it’s got a little kitchenette type thing and we get cable. (I watched My Cousin Vinny this evening even though I’ve seen it like 100 times.) They have limited channels so both Eric and myself get kind of bored. He’s been playing games like solitaire and what not on the computer. He tried playing some games online, but the lag was just too ridiculous.

Living out of a hotel isn’t all that bad, and it could definitely be worse, especially if we were at our home right now with all the electrical wires and trees everywhere, and no electricity. My parents have a good friend who live in the same apartments I live in and she didn’t evacuate. She told my parents yesterday that our apartments did not flood. I am so grateful because that was one of our biggest fears especially considering we live in one of the lowest areas around there. I’m so surprised that our home isn’t under water right now like most of the rest of the city of Houston and surrounding coastal areas.

Tomorrow we are moving into an apartment that is fully furnished and has a weekly rate. This hotel is nice but it’s way expensive with the nightly rates, at least this way we’ll get a bedroom and a separate living room so maybe Eric and I won’t go crazy as much. I’ll take him swimming over there, too probably. My parents are also moving to the same apartments for a week, because their hotel was even more expensive than mine. And at least here we’ll be closer to each other in this city that none of us are familiar with at all.

Anyway I’m sure everyone is tired of reading about Hurricane Ike. I’m not going to go into it much more than this, but I do hope everyone is safe and that your homes weren’t damaged too badly if you live in the area.

The apartment sounds nice though. But don’t feel the need to apologize, I think this major hurricane warrants you not even checking in on your website. You’re doing great to provide updates. So you’ll be gone all week then? Stay safe in a new city!

The apartment isn’t too bad, but I mean it’s not anything nearly as nice as my own home. I wish that I could be home right now, but they don’t even want us returning, and I just checked on the news there are so many people trying to come back and the roads are still messed up and traffic is just outrageous. I’ve already paid for the week here and I’m sticking it out. It’s too hot anyway to return home with no electricity. Also, all the meat and stuff in the freezer is going to stink so bad. I’m hoping the lights come back on and it refreezes so it doesn’t smell bad and I can just throw out old ruined frozen meat instead of stinky warm soggy rotten meat. :(

I’m not looking forward to that.

What’s important is that you and your family are all safe :)

Don’t feel bad. You need a life outside the net. The Apartment looks nice. :)

Excuse me, what do you mean I need a life outside the net? What does me posting about having to evacuate my home have anything to do with that? Did you actually bother to read the post? If not, why bother even commenting? The picture wasn’t of an apartment, but of a hotel, which again you’d know if you bothered to read the post. You’re from despair.. It’s people like you that make despair a joke because you don’t bother to even pretend to put any effort into the commenting exchange. Don’t come to my website and tell me I need a life outside of the net when obviously you have no idea what the hell you are talking about. I have plenty of life outside of the net, and I find your comment to be extremely rude. Don’t feel bad??? What is there not to feel bad about? Again, if you plan on leaving a comment on someone’s site, learn to read would you? Otherwise you just make yourself look stupid.

Angela, Sorry for what I said, and yes, I didn’t read all of it and I hope you will forgive me and hope you do get a home soon and I have been though Hurricanes too many times. I live in Florida. Again. Sorry.

Someone didn’t read the post, did they? She’s talking about having to EVACUATE out of her home because of Hurricane Ike and her issues with the hotel she was staying at and having to move to an apartment for a few days, and you say “You need a life outside the net”???? Maybe you can LOGICALLY explain why you said this, if you ever even come back to check the comments on this site to see if you were replied to?

Which I doubt, since you don’t really seem to care one way or another — considering it doesn’t even seem like you read anything the writer wrote.

By the way, saying to someone “You need a life outside the net” when you wrote on July 4th something like “I’ll be online all day and night so message me” is a little hypocritical, right?

Cetta, if you READ my blog right, I was home alone!! My hubby was out with his dad and his mom had plans so I was stuck at home. Makes you look like a loser as I did with Angela.

Didn’t know you needed your husband to do anything like go out on July 4th!!! Sorry!!!! I guess I stand corrected. When you’re married, and your husband goes out without you on July 4th or any other major party holiday, you are stuck online all day and all night!

I’ll remember that for when I get married.

I’m glad it missed you guys. The biggest thing about Ike is that it was around 800 miles wide, and that’s basically the size of our entire state. It was just a category 2, but it was so slow moving and so large that it freaking owned us. It’s just weird to see a city like Houston thrown out of commission for so long. They say our utilities won’t be restored for a couple of weeks. It’s just crazy. I hope they’re wrong though, and they get it back up and running. As of right now they have no cell phone service in most parts of the area, and no electricity, and no internet. I’m about ready to say fuck this and find another place to live, which I may very well do by next year. Cause this is getting ridiculous.
