My favorite Author is Stephen King. I absolutely love his imagination. He’s incredibly gifted and his mind is so twisted that he can spin out some of the greatest written works I’ve ever read in my life. My absolute favorite written piece by him is Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption which was later turned into a movie entitled The Shawshank Redemption. It’s about an innocent man who is wrongly convicted of murder. Some of my other favorites are Lisey’s Story, which I am currently reading for the 2nd time, Green Mile (I liked the book 100x more than I liked the movie), Rose Madder (amazing), Dolores Claiborne, and The Shining. These are definitely not the only books/stories I like but they are my favorites. If I were to name everything ever written by Stephen King that I absolutely love I’d be writing this all night long. lol.

Thanks for posting your favorite Stephen King books, Green Mile was unbelievable good. I read them when each book was released as the 6 book series, and couldn’t wait for each next book to arrive. The execution via electric chair was so much better described in the book than in the movie. But I must admit Michael Clarke Duncan did to a great John Coffey in the movie.

I also read them individually. I hated waiting for the next book to come out.

Hey Gel, his books really are awesome. If you ever do happen to get into reading, I suggest you pick up a couple of his novels. ;]

I’ve only read a couple of King’s books and they scared the crap out of me!!

I loved the movie “The Green Mile”, though.

The only one that really really scared me was “It” and “The Tommyknockers”. To this day I fear aliens and clowns. :(

Shawshank Redemption is one of my all time fave movies. I love that story a lot! My fave Stephen King books are Green Mile and The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. I cried reading both books

Hey Sasha! I’ve read both, and like I said The Shawshank redemption is my all time favorite. I have The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, but I didn’t really get into it that much for some reason.

Stephen King was my fave author during my teenage years/early 20s.

I remember reading “IT” late at night in bed, I was about 16 years old, and being absolutely convinced there was *something*, probably Pennywise, under my bed :)

I’ve not been too impressed with his recent works: The Cell was a watered and washed down version of The Stand, and Lisey’s Story just didn’t hook me. … And while my head objects strenuously at how he chose to end his Dark Tower series, my heart agrees that was probably the only way to go :)

To be honest I never even read The Cell. I heard it wasn’t all that great either. Lisey’s Story was slow for me getting into it, but it got way better during the middle. :P

I’ve never read him but I’ve always wanted to. I’ve just been scared off by people saying his stuff is really twisted and freaky and will give you bad dreams at night, is that true? Or do you think I’m ready for his writing? hehe

The Cell wasn’t that bad actually, it was a better zombie type book. Some of his stuff is disturbing and others less so, start off with Girl Who Loves Tom Gordon, which is much less creepy and scary than some of his works.

PS. The Mist was a great adaptation movie of his work, was one of the best horror films of the year.

The thing I remember most about Shawshank was the Mozart. I had to visit a blog by a blogger who isn’t sexy, like that isn’t the sexiest thing imaginable :)
