The Benefits Of LASIK and iLASIK

Having to wear corrective lenses since I was about twelve years old, I have been quite interested in the corrective procedure called LASIK for some time now. I have heard some good things about it in the past, but more recently, with the more modern LASIK procedures, I have been told that even military personnel and NASA employees undergo LASIK correction in order to improve their performance in missions and what not. The Department of Defense has even started having their personnel undergo an all-laser form of LASIK, called iLASIK, to help improve the vision of certain individuals who face extreme and demanding physical conditions. All of this LASIK information makes me even more curious because I would love to be able to go without having to wear glasses and/or contacts daily. I would love to be able to wake up in the morning and just “see” without having to actually find my glasses or put in my contacts. With the newer LASIK technology it is possible to achieve 20/20 vision or better, uncorrected. This means without glasses or contacts I could possibly have 20/20 vision. Imagine that! Over twelve million Americans have already benefited from this procedure. I think it’s about time I become part of that statistic!
