What reading means to me

I’ve always loved to read. Ever since I can remember, reading has been one of my favorite hobbies. To me, reading is a means of escape, kind of like how some people like soap operas or movies. I would rather cuddle up with a good book than watch any movie or television show, that’s for sure. When I”m reading a really good book, I can find myself relating to the characters in the book, and sometimes I feel like I know them. I know how they are feeling, what they are going through. More importantly though, in my opinion, reading means education. I know that probably sounds cliche, but it’s the truth. In 3rd grade I was told that I was reading on the level of college kids, and my teachers were all amazed. I made straight A’s without even trying. Reading helps with your grammar, your spelling, and your ability to retain and process information. I personally believe that people who read alot are in general more intelligent than those who don’t. I’m not saying that I think people who don’t read are stupid, I’m just saying that I think that the people who do read avidly are more intelligent. Reading is they “key” to learning, and it also tweaks the imagination in a way that nothing else can.

Thank you Cetta!
I love reading, too! One of my quirks is that I read 3 books at the same time. Plus, I read at least 1 chapter before I go to sleep. It’s a ritual already
Wow Sasha! Three at once! That would make my head spin. I love reading though, so I can understand.
amen girlie!!!
Hey Girl, how ya doin!?
wow! How I wish I was destined to read books. They say reading is the best teacher which I agree 100% but it’s not just my cup of tea.I only read if my teacher requires me to do lolz. Now that I’m not in school anymore,I felt relieved for I am free!
I could only read 2 or 3 pages of the book and that’s it.
Lalalala I just love to drop and drop alot haha
nice entry here..
I love to read. My 8 year old son takes after me in that he also loves to read. He’s so smart that I sometimes am amazed by him. I’m not saying that not reading means you’re stupid, though.
You are missing out on alot, you can get so much from a good book. But to each his own.
I am a book addict. I am currently reading four different books. That’s my thing - I read a bunch a one time and kind of switch between them. I am trying desperately to get my sister into reading and she has slowly come around. Reading is so important and I agree it does increase one’s intelligence and more importantly it engages one’s creativity.
I dunno if I could read that many books at once. I’d get confused.
I agree, reading does build your brain and it is sooo enjoyable. I love to read. I just wish I had more time for it heh.
