Pineapple Express

Have any of my readers seen the movie Pineapple Express with Seth Rogan? I always wonder in movies like that, what exactly are they smoking. I know it’s not real marijuana because, let’s face it, that’s not legal at all. What they are smoking is this product from a company called International Oddities. It’s a tobaccoless product that looks just like the real thing, only it’s not the real thing. At the 2008 MTV Music Awards Bill Black revealed the secret of the imitation, and answers questions regarding what it was they were smoking on the movie Pineapple Express. Seth Rogan said that International Oddities products were used in nearly every scene of that movie. Some people even expressed shock over how convincing the product was and how much it resembled the real thing. International Oddities smoking products are not a prop, however. They are a real smokeable product, that does not contain tobacco. I personally haven’t heard of them before now, but this company has been in business for 25 years, and are still going strong. It makes me wonder though, what other movies International oddities products were used in. What about Half Baked? Or Dazed and Confused? Dazed and Confused is one of my favorite movies of all times, I think I’ll look into it more and see if these products were used in those movies or the Cheech and Chong movies. It’s actually pretty interesting.

So it’s a real smokable product, but what does it do? Is it like taking a placebo, just nothing that doesn’t affect your system? Or are the actors getting something bad in their lungs while they smoke it for the movie?
