Omg @ Wordpress 2.6

Yeah, so I upgraded wordpress today. And guess what? My posts weren’t showing up. At first, for a brief second I panicked. I literally almost stopped breathing. Why?! Because for some idiotic reason I thought that all my posts had vanished. Yes, I know they are stored in MySQL, but that didn’t stop me from freaking out for a millisecond. So after I realized that all my posts were in fact still there, instead of doing the obvious and deactivating plugins (like you’re supposed to do but I never do since lazy), I was like wtf @ entries not showing up. So I then downgraded back to my old version of wordpress. Guess what? The shit still didn’t show up. So I upgraded back. LOL. Suddenly everything was BLANK. YES! BLANK!!! At this point I’m getting pissed. 
Well to make a long story short, (ok not really, it’ll probably still be long) I backed up my database via phpMyAdmin, and then I deleted it. I deleted all of my wordpress files and did a clean install. Imported my database and uh.. guess what? Same damn thing. Blank. I checked the wordpress support forums, and found nothing. About that time a big fat lightbulb went off in my head. I deactivated all plugins. Guess what?! It worked (sort of). I got a few errors regarding plugin code in my layout, so I reactivated all the plugins again.. and yay, back to blank freaking pages.
Needless to say I eventually got it all sorted out. I had to upgrade a couple of plugins and change some things around, and everything seems to be back to normal for now. Wow that was frustrating. 
Edit: Oh yeah, and now I have to fix my smilies again. Do not want plain little yellow smilies!!!!

Bleh, that’s why I never want to upgrade. It’s SUCH an ordeal and things never work right at first. I’m glad you got things working again!!!!!

Well, as long as you disable all your plugins and make sure you back up everything you should be fine. I was lazy and didn’t disable the plugins, and that was the real problem. It just took me much longer than it should have to figure it out.
Ya I fixed them, but now that I changed everything around on here I don’t wanna use them anymore cause they don’t match, so I’m in the process of making new ones.
