10 Things To Blog About

Do you ever draw a blank when it comes to blogging? Sometimes I sit down to blog and I realize I have absolutely nothing noteworthy to blog about. Today was no exception. I sat down at my computer with the full intention of blogging about something but once I actually logged into wordpress I really couldn’t even remember what I was going to say. So I compiled this list of blog possibilities for myself and anyone else who sometimes needs blogging ideas. This list isn’t in any order, and I’m quite certain there are a million other things that one could blog about that aren’t on this list so please don’t take this as blogging gospel or anything.
1. The Weather:
The weather is always a safe subject. No matter if it’s sunny, rainy, clowdy, snowing or whatever, someone always hates it and someone always loves it. You could probably safely blog about the weather once a week or so and no one would complain. Maybe.
2. Family/Friends:
Blogging about your family works too, especially if they’re funny, weird, or crazy. You can also blog about your friends or loved ones.. or your kids. Other people’s lives are usually more interesting than your own anyway. The only problem with this is what if you say something about a family member or friend and they read it? Uh oh..
3. School or Work:
School or work are both safe and semi-interesting topics that will fill up some space. Just remember not to complain about your boss or any co-workers if anyone you work with knows your website. The shit tends to get back to whomever you blogged about and that’s never good. Same with school. Blog about it all day and night, but don’t say anything that will get you an F if your annoying ass teacher happens to one day come across your blog. :X
4. Current Events:
This subject is almost always a winner. How many days til Bush is out of office? How’s the latest campaign to legalize marijuana coming along? Holy shit @ the price of gas! Yada yada yada…
5. Your Neighbors:
My neighbors are pretty sucky. I could go on and on for days about them, so I’m sure each and every one of you have something you could say about your neighbors.. good or bad.
6. Money:
Blog about how rich you are.. or how poor you are. Blog about how you saved money at the pump.. or how you wish you saved money at the pump. Blog about how much celery costs. Who cares. Money is always a great blog subject. Everyone wants to know how to save more, how to spend less, and how to make more. Money FTW!
7. Food:
Okay, who doesn’t love food? Don’t have anything interesting to blog about? Throw up your favorite recipe. Blog about your grandma’s mashed potatoes. Whatever. Just like money, food is always a great subject.
8. Movies:
Again, another great subject. There’s always a movie you want to see, or have seen, that you could probably go on and on about. (for at least 50 words, right?)
9. Significant Other/Crush:
Blog about the boyfriend, the girlfriend, or your latest crush. That’s something isn’t it? I mean it’s not like most people who read your blog are going to give a rats ass about who you like or if you got into a fight with your boyfriend or husband over putting the toilet seat down or drinking out of the milk carton, but still, it’s better than nothing. Sort of.
10. Blog about how you have nothing to blog about:
That’s right folks. Blog about nothing. Blog about how boring your life is… how you have nothing worth talking about, how uninteresting you are.. Blog about how nothing interesting has happened to you or in your life. Blog about how much you suck. Hell, blog about how much I suck. It’s still better than going to a website and seeing that it hasn’t been updated for weeks. Get on with it!

You’re right, any blog entry is better than no blog entry. And people always have something going on in their lives they could blog about, whether it’s interesting or not, it’s an event. Life isn’t always funny or exciting, heh. You left off pets though. That’s probably my favorite topic to read about.
I SHALL BLOG ABOUT MY PET SOON.
You know what Julie, I really didn’t even think about pets.. because I don’t have any. I kind of want a little tiny puppy and I am probably going to beg the boyfriend to get me one for Christmas. Cause I live in an apartment and the pet deposit for a small pet is $400. !!!!!
But you’re correct, who wants to go to a website and see that there hasn’t been an update in weeks. I hate that especially with Despair.nu because sometimes you have to comment on the same site and they don’t update for weeks. That’s rather annoying.
I thought this was informative! As you know I haven’t blogged in about a WEEK before today because there was nothing to blog about or I couldn’t get the words out. Then today BAM BAM BAM three entries in a row. That’s what happens when ink is off the paper for too long. Words just burst out everywhere.
Hey Cetta!! Sorry about the late response, been going through some crap lately.. but the planets are aligned in my favor today or uh.. Idk, something! But yeah, it sometimes is hard to come up with things to blog about. Personal blogs can sometimes get boring anyways, when all that’s talked about is “i did this today, i did that yesterday” type shit. I’m guilty of that though sometimes, but I try to keep it interesting.. at least a little.

I dunno, I think your blogs are pretty interesting, but wouldn’t it have been better to have blogs when they first started or when the internet first started when it was a big deal for the whole entire world to see your house or hear about your day?
Now it’s just common place.
Yeah, I dunno. I’ve been blogging for a long time. It would have been pretty cool to do it back when, but honestly I had no interest in the internet or anything of that sort, I found it all to be so strange. Now though, I’m addicted!
haha, that was too funny! i only blog about once a month cuz i’m always afraid that i’ll sound too repetitive or whiny.
I try to blog daily or at least every other day. I like to give my visitors something new to read or look at when they come. I sometimes sound repetitive, but that’s ok. I’m whiny sometimes too, LOL. Thanks for the comment Amy!!
