American Idol - Finale

The two David’s performed tonight on the finale of American Idol. Usually I agree with Simon’s judgment but tonight I think he was way off. That’s just me, though. I’m sure there are a lot of David Archuleta fans out there, but I personally think David Cook is the the better choice for this year’s American Idol competition. Anyway, I won’t go too much into it cause I don’t want this to turn into a novel. Here is a semi-quick overview of tonight’s American Idol.
Round One:
David Cook sang I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For by U2. I thought he did wonderfully, but I also absolutely love the song. David Archuleta sang Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me by Elton John. Simon said it was his best performance ever. I think he did well, but I am kind of sick of hearing him sing all these old ass easy listening type of songs. He’s like 17 years old, I just wish he could sing something more suited to his age, or the group of people that would more than likely be voting for him tonight. (13 year old girls.) Simon gave this round to Archuleta. Whatever!
Round Two:
In this round of the competition David Cook sand a song entitled Dream Big written by Emily Shackelton. David Archuleta sang In This Moment written by Ryan Gillmor. Although Simon said that Dream Big didn’t sound like a winning song, and that David A. chose the better song this round, I again disagree. I think David C. was amazing, and made this song a hit. Again, David A sings songs and has a style that I think my grandma would probably like. Give me a break.
Round Three:
David Cook owned this round. I don’t give a damn what Simon or ANYONE says. He sang The World I Know by Collective Soul. The beginning, for me, was a bit iffy, but as the song progressed I felt that he kicked complete ass. Simon said some bullshit like David C. should have sang the Billie Jean song, and David C. responded with “This show is all about progression, and I didn’t want to do something I’ve already done.” Simon did say that David C. is one of the nicest and most sincere contestants but that he had chosen the wrong song. David Archuleta sang Imagine. Although I love the song, I was bored out of my skull listening to him sing it. He does have a great voice, but like I’ve said over and over again, he sounds like he’s catering to the grandparents of the world. Simon said “You came to win, and what we’ve witnessed is a knock-out.” What?!
Simon needs to be slapped right in his face. David Cook owned it, he always owns it, and I adore him. I do personally think David A. will more than likely win this competition because of the simple fact that every 13 year old in the country is burning up their phone lines voting for him right now. It’s not hard to figure out what the appeal is. He’s a cute little kid, and the little teen girls go crazy for his goofy ass. As far as all around talent, style, and likability.. David Cook has my vote. All the way.

Ugh, Simon can be so mean. He sometimes just gives rude comments for the fun of it. Personally (as a 13-year-old girl), I don’t watch American Idol, but a lot of my friends watch it. If you want David Cook to win, then I’ll cheer for him too, seeing as I have no idea as to what’s going on. Well, happy watching!
Sharv, I guess I should have worded that a little better. I hope I didn’t offend you, because I didn’t mean to imply 13 year old girls were stupid or anything like that. I just mean that he is so young and he’s cute so that appeals to the younger girls who watch American Idol. It irks me because they aren’t voting for him because of his talent, but because he is a cute kid, you know? Thanks for your support though, I do think David Cook is the more talented person, but that’s just my opinion.
Aww, trust me, I wasn’t offended by that. I just found it amusing and ironic in my case. However, you’re right, he is very cute, and I know many people that are voting for him since he’s cute. May the man with the most talent win!

No finale drooling over Cook’s wonderful voice. But that didn’t keep me from voting. I’m with you though, Archie is a little kid, and his ballads are so boring. Really, that’s not an artist I want to hear more from.
