Mother’s Day

Even though today is actually Mother’s Day, I did the whole Mother’s Day thing with my mom yesterday. Why yesterday? Because today she is going to spend the day with her own mother for one, and for two, I am a mother myself and today is also my day. Also, I figured since my step-dad had plans yesterday and wouldn’t be around, my mom and I could spend more time together. It was pretty nice, actually. Eric and I bought her some flowers yesterday morning and then we drove out to her house to pick up her and my sister for lunch. We had a decent lunch. I wasn’t too thrilled about the soda and had to send it back for more. Yeah, I know.. complaining about the soda? But my soda was the color of weak iced tea and tasted like disgusting carbonation and that’s it. Plus my sister’s soda was all nice and dark.. so it was obvious something was wrong with mine. But yeah, that got worked out. So anyways, afterwards we spent some time at my mom’s and my aunt Michelle came over and showed pictures of her brand new grandson. My cousin and his wife had their baby on Friday and he’s just so adorable!! He’s my aunt’s first grandson so of course she’s excited and thrilled and all that. 
Anyway, I’m going to try my best to relax today, but I doubt I’ll get to very much. There’s always stuff to do, but I’ll make the best of it. I’m gonna plan something simple for dinner so that I don’t have to cook much, lol.

That’s nice that you got to spend the day with your mom and have a nice lunch together. My mom derailed our plans in favor of a barbecue at home.
As for the soda, since I just got a nasty one myself and I am forcing myself to finish it (last soda in the house) I know exactly what you mean. Never thought I’d get one so full of the carbonation stuff and no flavor from a can.
