Annoyed

Well, my cable internet is being horrible still, and the dsl modem finally came today. What good is it though when I can’t get a dial tone or anything? Seriously, the phone guy came and he checked all the jacks and then gave me some crap about having to contact my apartments to find out why the line isn’t going all the way out to the box? Yeah.. and the apartments say they don’t deal with it, if I want the phone company to fix it I’m gonna have to pay for it. Nice $120.00 fee. Well, the guy is coming back out on Wednesday to try and set up the service. I’m less than thrilled by this whole ordeal. I’m hoping I don’t have to pay the fee. If by chance they don’t need to install a new jack or whatever I won’t have to.
On another note, I haven’t received any more donations for Tracy. I hope to receive more though. She took her daughter and moved back to her hometown to stay with a friend until she can get back on her feet. She’s job searching and is still desperately in need of funds. Right now she and her daughter are sleeping on her friend’s living room floor in a tiny 1 bedroom apartment.
I’m going to take Julie’s advice and make a page showing the progress with donations and how much we’ve received so far, and what my goal is. I will get on that as soon as my damn internet is back up and running properly.

That really sucks that your internet connection is still problematic. I hope the phone company can fix it without having to charge you. But chances are, they’ll find some reason to charge you. In our apartment back in college we ended up having a broken phone jack in the bedroom somehow, and we had to pay for it to be fixed. Bleh. Hopefully more people will be nice and donate some funds to your friend. I’m glad she’s already moved back and has someone to stay with for now. Hopefully she gets a job and gets back on her feet soon. Poor dear.
Ugh, the internet just can’t give you a break, now can it?? That sucks about the whole cable not liking you and then the phone company mishap. We used to have DSL and went through something similar but luckily my brother was able to fix it but then again, situations are different in an apartment. Hope it gets fixed soon.
I hope more people donate. I think the page was a good idea made by Julie. At least your friend has someone to stay with and a support system to help her get situated and back up on her feet. Maybe on the donation page you could post a pic or something? I dunno, pictures seem to tug at heart strings more so than words, ya know. I’m wishing the best for your friend.
