I’m considering a new hosting company…

I’ve been using this hosting company that I’m with now for about a year, and I must say, I’m less than satisfied with them. One of the main reasons I’ve stuck with them thus far is their price. I thought I was getting a decent deal. I’ve had several problems with them in the past with down time, but the biggest complaint I have is their customer service. These people simply have a bad attitude. When I have a problem with something and submit a ticket to their help desk, I am usually greeted with some rude smart ass person who acts like I’m an idiot. Now, maybe they do deal with a lot of people on a daily basis, but isn’t it their job? I’m paying for their service, the least they could do is be courteous. Anyway, like I said I thought I was getting a good deal, but when I went searching, I found quite a few reputable hosting companies. Granted most of them were double the price of what I pay now, but they were also offering double and sometimes triple the space.
This is just so frustrating, even as I type this I am having trouble uploading through the ftp client. It keeps disconnecting. I’ve tried 2 other ftp clients and it’s the same thing. Plus my sites load awfully slow it seems. Maybe it’s just me, I don’t know.. but I really think it’s about time for a change. One of the main reasons I haven’t actually switched hosts yet is because I host other people with blogs and I didn’t want to put them through the trouble. I think though, if I do the transfer late at night, back up everyone’s stuff and re upload it.. and do all the database transferring myself, it’ll be ok. I dunno, I’m not fully decided yet, but it’s becoming more and more of a probability than just a possibility. :confused:

if they are treating you bad, and wasting your money, then maybe it is time for a switch.
my FTP does the same thing, but it only happens once in awhile.

I’m having problems with my host right now too… But their customer support is pretty much okay..and I don’t really have a lot of choices here in our country so I’ll probably stick with them.

I had a host about a year ago and i pretty much went through the same thing you are. Maybe you could do some research and find a better host or ask around? Because if your paying for something you should get what your paying for

Aww - I’m sorry about the problems you’re having with your current hosting company. It’s amazing how poorly some of them are ran, and it’s always the customers that suffer. I’ve been using Estarr for close to five or six years and have never had any issues with them. *knock on wood*

Wow, terrible customer service is a great reason to leave. Who’s your host? I used to have netrillium and they were really bitchy when I had issues. Especially when I wanted to transfer my domain, man! I’m through hostaxia.com right now, my friend’s reseller, and it’s been great so far. If you feel moving would work better for you, then you certainly should.
