  • Smart Kids, Mad Moms, and Cold Weather.. What?

My son brought home his report card on Friday. He made all high A’s. He’s also reading on an 8th grade level right now. That’s really great for a 2nd grader. I am so proud of him. I guess I’m proud of myself, too. I must be doing something right. Or he’s just smart.. but then again I’d like to think I can take credit for that too. :)

My mom’s going to be annoyed with me. She let me watch one of her netflix movies last week and uh.. I just barely dropped it back in the mail today. It was that movie Good Luck Chuck. She’s probably wondering wtf it hasn’t been returned yet. Oops, sorry Mom!

It’s so cold out. It’s like 40 degrees. I guess to some that probably won’t seem cold, but to those of us who have lived our whole lives in South Texas, it’s freezing! I take my son to the bus every morning at 7 am, and let me tell you.. the first time out early in the morning in freezing cold weather is almost equivalent to that first jump in a cold swimming pool. Once you get used to it, it’s still freezing, but not nearly as numbing. Oh how I wish it were October again. :(

Wow, congratulations to your son! What a clever little boy. I hope he’s proud of himself, too. :)

It’s a shame you don’t enjoy winter weather. I kinda like it, as I am from Norway and live in England and neither of those countries are exactly famed for their sunshine. *lol* But I hate hot weather, so it’s good that you can deal with that! I’m envious! :)

I do like Winter weather, but not when it’s wet and freezing. I can stand the heat, but prefer not to because in Texas when it’s hot.. it’s REALLY hot. :(

Aww wow your son is really smart! That’s awesome! Really, it was 40 this morning? I didn’t notice but now it’s in the 60s so that’s really nice.

I know I’m late in responding to this.. but yea it was cold that day. What I don’t like about Texas is how you dress warm in the A.M and by noon is blazing hot and you are sweating like a pig. >;[

Thanks Lisa. I’m pretty proud of him.

I’ve never been to Vegas. Have you been to Texas? The weather here is so flip floppy.

Awww you must be one proud mama with your son doing so well in school. Keep up the good work!

So it’s 6 degrees Farenheit here in Michigan, but feels like -14 because of the windchill. I would KILL for it to be 40!!!! I should move to S. Texas!

Hey Dawn, you should get netflix. It’s such a good deal.. and you get the movies delivered right to your home. It’s a pretty quick service too. Usually only takes a day for them to receive the movie and then you get a new one the very next day. :P

grats on your son :) hopefully he’ll keep up the hard work when he gets older.
I’m from southern VA and now I attend school in High Point NC-it’s cold here but we’ve had colder days-I remember being in VA and having single digits.
I blame the ozone layer :P
still I guess it is quite odd for Texas to be in the 40s.at least spring is nearly 2 months away

Very awesome! That’s great that your son is doing so well in school! Lol I can’t rent movies because I never return them on time – I always forget. It’s really cold here too the past few days. The sun is out but the air is like ice =(

I can’t rent movies either.. That’s why netflix works well for me. You just drop it in the mailbox when you are done. You should give it a try. It’s fairly cheap. Plus.. you can keep the movies for a long ass time if you like. ;X
