You are exactly right. It just feels “off”. I don’t like it in the least. I mean I still like the show alot, but I honestly think that they are going to lose quite a few viewers because of this.

I am hoping it does help. I’m in one of these weird addictive/emotionally abusive relationships. I know that actually admitting you have a problem is supposed to be half the battle with addiction, but it’s still pretty hard, even knowing what I know.

Me too. By 3rd grade I was reading college books and had to have my school work adjusted because I was getting bored in class. By 5th grade I was in a tutoring program.. where I tutored 6th and 7th graders. Maybe she’s just jealous.

Emotional abuse is tough. It’s worse than physical abuse sometimes because it’s quiet and can be hidden. You’re tough, things will work out. And men won’t change unless they want to. I know women always have that idea about how they could be THE ONE to change a man, but unfortunately men are more content finding something who will accept them even if they are with THE ONE. I gave up and then found someone who did because he knew it would better him.

I think the only time someone degrades someone else’s abilities is because they’re jealous. I was able to read at a very young age as well, as I commend any parent who encourages their kids to read, even before they “think” they’re ready. Instead of being rude to you, this person should have been commending you.

Emotional abuse IS very real.. and coming from someone who has been physically abused and emotionally abused (not by the same people).. I can honestly say that the emotional is worse. It leaves scars on your heart and in your mind, that you keep with you sometimes for a long time.

You are so right. Men don’t change (unless they want to). My ex doesn’t seem to care enough about me to make certain changes. It’s hard and I love him alot, but I can’t keep subjecting myself to this pain day after day.

If your child is a lot more advanced than others in his class, maybe he should go to a school for the gifted, or at least be bumped up a grade. He should get credit for his intelligence. Even though the teacher is altering his curriculum, that’s not going to show on transcripts people outside the school see.
