Finally got those damn tablets!

After going to 3 different stores this morning, I finally found a place that had those damn tablets. Turns out though, my son needs 15 tablets, not 13.. SO I had to go BACK to the store later and get 2 more tablets. :( I called his school because I thought it strange he needed only 1 story tablet. They actually needed 3 story tablets though. Their online list was wrong, hopefully they changed that. There’s gonna be alot of pissed off moms I bet. LOL. Anyways, I figured I’d take a few minutes to blog it up while my brownies are cooling off. Yes, I made brownies. Fat much?!

I took my son’s shoes back to JCP because the one’s I ordered online were too small. (wtf?) They just reordered the bigger sizes out of their catalog and they will be arriving next week. I thought that was kind of cool because they didn’t have the size he needed in the store and having them ordered from the catalog allowed me to avoid having to go through all their shoes while my son searched for a few pair he liked. It saved time and headache. Also, most of the school clothes shopping is done, too. I think I might actually sell some of his old clothes on Ebay, because they are all still really nice, but he just outgrew them. Well, whatever.

Anyways, this is my first post from my new laptop. I fucking love having a lappy, it’s so nice to be able to do shit online while sitting on my fat ass on the sofa watching Will and Grace. ;x My son actually wants me to sell his desktop and get him a laptop. He said “Mommy, a laptop is actually the greatest device ever created” lol. I talked to the boyfriend about it, and we might be getting him one for Christmas. Or birthday.. I dunno. I don’t think I’d get him one quite as big as mine though, something smaller and a little less expensive. He’s only 7 afterall.

I made a few small changes last night to the website.. I added the calendar, and a fonts page (oh yippee). Also, added the link exchanges to the sidebar over there, instead of having them on a separate sub-page. I think it looks nicer like that. If you don’t, then don’t look. :X New hostees are on the up and coming, but they haven’t gotten their sites ready yet.. so when that’s done I’ll link them. I was going to host this one girl Cynthia, but she changed her mind about wanting a website. It’s no biggie really, but it kind of annoyed me a little bit because I installed wordpress for her and then she decided she couldn’t use wordpress.. So I installed greymatter for her. She then decided that she couldn’t use greymatter either. She then emailed me and said that it was too much for her. Whatever. I’m not being bitchy, it’s just that I state very clearly right in the rules that you must have some website experience/knowledge. So why bother applying if you don’t know what you are doing? So Hmph.

Alright that’s it for my super boring update. Bye.

Yea I know exactly what you mean about hostees.. they can really suck. I’m down to one maybe even none. I had this one girl that begged me to host her… she was only 13 but I set up everything for her, and then she IMed mee and said that her “mom” said that she couldn’t get hosted and threw a big fit and flipped out on her… so I’m like whatever if it was “that serious” she should have asked her mom ahead of time.

Why on earth would someone apply for hosting only to complain about everything? *rolls eyes* I personally and prepared to kiss you arse for every little thing you do for me. :)

Awe, you don’t have to do that! :p BTW.. I peeked. Your site’s coming along nicely. (I hope you don’t mind that I peeked).

Your son has a computer? Wow, I was lucky to get one when I was twelve or so, and we didn’t even have the internet for a while. That’s cool that you’re willing to get him a laptop. They are awesome. I would never part with mine.

Maybe your almost-hostee had html experience. It took me a while to figure out how to use wordpress. It is daunting at first. I don’t know though, I would probably be a little irked too for doing all that and then finding out that she was just going to give up. Oh well. :)

Hell no I don’t mind. (You are the owner, after all, lol) And thank you. :) I’ve got some more things to upload (mainly some stories, which require a ton of copy & paste, meh). But when it’s ready for unveiling I’ll let you know.

Ugh, sounds like a rough time with that almost-hostee.

Your son’s SO lucky, having his own computer at seven!
I wasn’t even allowed anywhere NEAR a computer until I was about 12…!

That’s rather a lot of notebooks.

XDD Laptops are great. I love mine. His name is Neelix… er. because I’m one of those weirdos that names stuff that I love.

bleh, don’t think about the calories brownies hold but the deliciousness. :D mm, i’m jealous. oh, but i can totally relate with the laptops! my brother recently gave his to mine since he wasn’t using it, and i’ve been wandering around the house these days hugging it. isn’t it just wonderful? haha, we can be on the internet anywhere, yay! it’s really sweet if you end up getting your son a laptop, but IMO, he’s a bit young for something expensive like that. what is he going to do with it? maybe you can let him borrow yours instead… and carry it around, because carrying it around is the best part. ;)

Yes, my son has a computer lol. His computer doesn’t have internet access, however, and I monitor his online time very closely and he is only allowed to visit certain websites. I am not sure yet if I am willing to get him the laptop, but I am considering it. I know it wouldn’t be anything overly expensive, but it would suit his needs.

Yes, she said she had html experience, and I never said she HAD to use any type of blog system whatsoever. She chose to, and then backed out. No big deal I guess.. it’s just annoying, and it’s the reason I have to put up all those “rules for hosting” that make me seem like an anal retentive bitch, lol. :(

Neelix is a very interesting name. I’ve never named anything that I own, but I’ve considered doing it. :P

Lol, the biggest problem with brownies or anything like that is that around here everything seems to go to waste and it’s annoying. I mean it’s just myself and my son, and we couldn’t possibly eat an entire thing of brownies. Although, I’d consider it.. ;X

As far as the laptop goes, if he were an average 7 year old child I probably wouldn’t ever consider getting him a laptop. (although I’m sure every mother in the world thinks their child is well above average lol) My son is highly intelligent (which I like to think he gets from me HAHA) He is in the gifted and talented program @ school. He is heading into the second grade and is already reading on a 6th graders level. He began doing multiplication and division in kindergarten, and knows his way around a computer better than most adults I know. He even knows how to use paint shop pro and adobe photoshop, lol, however he’s not an “expert” at it yet. Anyways, I know it sounds like I’m bragging, and I guess I am.. but that’s because I am so proud of him. I do attribute alot of his accomplishments to the fact that I was a stay at home mother and was able to teach him and work with him even before he began going to school. I guess you didn’t need to get a novel of a reply, I just figured I’d explain why I am considering getting him a laptop. One of the only reasons I would probably not end up getting him a laptop is because of the internet. He does have a desktop but it does not have access to the internet, and I monitor his internet usage VERY closely. It would be much harder to monitor if he was on a wireless connection anytime he wanted to be. :)

you have every right to brag about your son, especially one with such a high aptitude as yours! i think once you become a parent you have infinite bragging rights. :) this absolutely none of my business, but my opinion now has definitely been changed. your son sounds very prepared and responsible enough to have his own laptop, and i guess it doesn’t hurt to start now. in this generation, i’m sure his school will actually start teaching about computers more… how exciting. :D take care!

His school actually already does teach them about computers. He goes to a really great school.. in first grade they had 4 computers in the classroom and each day when they went to different “stations” (math, reading, creative writing, computers, etc) the children get to use the computer to play learning games and what not. Also, they have computer lab twice a week where they actually go to a computer class. It’s pretty great, I think. And you are entitled to your opinions and I am glad that you voiced yours. I appreciate the feedback. Anyways, have a lovely rest of the weekend. :)

He’s only 7 and has a computer? Wow. It’s still kinda weird to me…kids knowing things about computers. But now that I think about it I was on a computer at his age. But I didn’t get a lap top untill I was 15. :/ But that’s because I had to save the money myself.

Brownies are heaven, and now you made me want some haha. My neice is 7 and she adores playing on the computer, and my family didn’t even have one when i was her age! Kids these days are pretty amazing, i’ll admit to that.

Wow kids are all getting stuff so early. I go to the mall and I see kids with iphones and I didn’t get a new phone till recently so I had this broken held together by tape phone while two 7 year olds are strolling about with iphones. *headdesk*

I have a desktop and a laptop though (well the lappy is the bf’s but semantics lol) and I love sitting on in front of the tv or taking it on trips but I love my desktop so much.

My son is 7, and he has his own cell phone.. BUT it’s one of those firefly phones. They’re pretty cool, they don’t have a number keypad so they can’t randomly dial anyone. They can only dial or recieve from numbers that you program into the phone and you have to have a pin number to do so. An iphone lol.. no way. I won’t even spend that kind of money on a cell phone for myself. I don’t even see the point.

I have a desktop and a laptop also. And my son has a desktop. I know what you mean though, I love my lappy. !!!

Sarah McLachlan is really good too. That’s so cute and really awesome that your son loves Sarah now. ^^ Now I know how to make sure my kid has awesome taste in music ha ha ha.

Awww man those Firefly phones looked so cool to me…you know for a kid. It’s such a neat concept and totally what a kid would need. The only way I could see myself with an iphone is if I was rich otherwise I just think it’s way to much for a phone. Besides I’m totally loving my sidekick *huggles*

The firefly is really neat. I could never EVER see myself with an iphone though.. honestly because I am pretty rough on my cell phones and I just KNOW I’d mess it up. lol. I wanted a sidekick, but I wasn’t so sure about TMobile. :P

Wow, your son’s a lucky kid if he’s getting a laptop. I don’t even have one, but of course I want one. I’ll concentrate on getting my iPod Video first… I’m all saved up, and all I need to do is find the right time for buying.

I’ve never had an iPod or an iPod video. Sounds cool, though. I do have an MP3 player, but mine is the creative zenV. I love it. It doesn’t do video or anything, but it’s great. I’m really not sure yet about the laptop, but I’ve been toying with the idea. And don’t feel bad about not having a laptop. I just barely got my first one this year.

BTW, I meant to tell you that I freaking ADORE your layout. It’s so cute.

Wow that’s a great idea, to sell his clothes on Ebay. Maybe I’ll start doing that with my own clothes…

Congratulations on getting a new laptop :) I’d kill to get a new computer cause the one I have is soo slow.

I used to have a laptop, and I absolutely loved it! Although, I’ve noticed that things go wrong with them way too fast and there aren’t many people out there who know how to fix them. With 2 laptops, I’ve had the power supply go in both of them. I’m back to the desktops, at least for a while, but good luck with yours. I loved being able to just lay on the couch with the computer in my lap. Or in bed! I would leave it all day sometimes.

Yeah, I’ve had mine only 2 months and it’s already having trouble.. It’s not the power supply though, I don’t think. It’s the battery.. or where you plug the battery in at. (I guess that IS part of the power supply, huh) It’s rather annoying cause it’s hard to get it to connect well enough to charge the battery. Damn thing. :(

Congrats on getting those tablets. :) Ebay is a great place for selling stuff and making money. Good luck if you chose to sell clothes on there.

Wish I had a new laptop. Mine is so old, but doesn’t need to be replaced I guess.
