so…

I got an email from someone asking me why my “blog entries are so impersonal”. I read other people’s web blogs and I see them posting all kinds of personal stuff about their life, and their families and what not. If they choose to be all out in the open, well that’s their prerogative. I simply choose not to do so. I have dealt with “stalker types” and stuff like that… those people who use any personal information they can get against you. I have actually even had someone threaten to email my parents with a link to a personal blog entry I made regarding my mom.. which I don’t really feel I have anything to hide, but seriously, if I wanted it to be emailed to her I’d do it myself. I do keep a livejournal for more personal stuff, and that’s that. Most people use Myspace for their blogs these days, but I honestly think myspace is worse than putting all your information out there on your weblog. I mean seriously, crazy people can not only stalk YOU out, but people on your friends list on myspace like your family, friends, classmates, co-workers, etc. It just doesn’t seem all that safe to me. So, anyways, without going into a novel about the whole thing, I basically don’t post alot of overly personal stuff because I don’t want my personal business blasted all over the internets. With that said..
I am patiently waiting for my boyfriend to buy my tablet from Best Buy. Grrr.. They say patience is a virtue. So, let’s just say I am not feeling very virtuous right now. I hate sounding like a whiney spoiled brat, BUT… I want it, I want it, I want it!!! (lol). I should actually have my tablet tomorrow (hopefully). I can’t wait. I’m getting the Intuos3 6×8in. Isn’t it pretty?

Ok, so I hope everyone had a lovely Easter!

Whoever emailed you was pretty well too forward to even email you about what you just mentioned. It’s your site and you can choose to blog about WHATEVER you want WHENEVER you want. I’d love to get a tablet, but I’m a horrible drawer =)
I know what you mean, I’ve had people tell me that sometimes my blog are rather impersonal but that’s mainly because I usually have nothing to say haha. Oooh lovely tablet, hope you enjoy it once you get it! I have one myself, a very simple one for now though and I love it
PFFT it’s your site and your blog, you should do with it what you want. People shouldn’t tell you that your site isn’t personal enough. Sheesh. Really though, myspace isn’t dangerous at all cause you can do a private profile that’s friends-only (like I have it) and only those you allow to see your profile, will. Privacy is really important. *nods*
I have a livejournal too where all my other personal stuff is blogged. My entries aren’t that personal, I post a few pictures here and there but I don’t usually name names until I have a link for them. It really does depend on the person’s preference of blogging and as readers we just have to respect that
Good luck in getting your tablet!
I love tablets. They are the best invention ever.
It’s unbelievable that someone emailed you because your blog wasn’t personal enough - there are millions of personal blogs floating around the internet, why didn’t they shimmy on over to one of them?? How rude.
I don’t usually blog about personal things either. I don’t really like the idea of complete strangers knowing details about me that not even my close friends would know. And for the most part, I feel that overly personal blogs, unless well written, are a bit on the boring side because it’s not relatable to people who don’t know you.
